My name is Pastor Leroy G. W. Bean. I first would like to give a warm welcome to my reading audience. It is a great honor and privilege to welcome you to join me on this journey as you read the book Gang Violence Is by Design: Exposing the Lie. My hope is to enlighten each reader on the complexities of the systemic design called colonialism and how it has shaped many societies and the indigenous people who live in them. The book will bring an awareness of the various strategies that have been used to shape the minds of many of those within the British Overseas Territories, thus causing a divide between the haves and the have-nots. It is my goal to expose the infrastructure that underlies the peripheral issues and to bring an awakening and call to action to those who have been subject to such a system. The book takes you through the importance of understanding secondary issues and their root cause, which is critical in addressing this Mephistophelian system that has plagued our communities, with emphasis on empowering many of the Indigenous people to rise and break the transgenerational trauma that many have collectively experienced. It is my firm belief that every cause has an effect and that nothing exists without an impetus. My prayer is that the information and concepts contained within the book will play a pivotal role in breaking the cycle of violence while at the same time creating an environment that is balanced and empathetic to all who are affected by this epidemic called gang violence.
